5. A New Beginning on Friday the 13th (1985)
Isn’t it true that good things never really come to an end? So, it’s a new Friday. Only a year later, the thirteenth feature was released in theaters. The film’s title, A New Beginning, was designed to reintroduce the series to new audiences.
This one takes place five years after Jason was macheted to death. Tommy, the film’s protagonist, has been tormented by the occurrence since the night of the tragedy and is attempting to go on with his life.
Later in the film, we learn that the murderer who has been torturing everyone is a phony. This can only mean one thing! They’ve maintained faithful to the movie’s plot by killing Jason Voorhees. However, for the most part, it was a disappointing film. This slasher film will undoubtedly give you a few goosebumps here and there, but that’s to be expected.
6. Jason Lives in Part VI of Friday the 13th (1986)
Tommy returns, but he is not in good health. This film came released precisely a year after the last one. Tommy returns home with a buddy in this film, but he is plagued by nightmares and vivid hallucinations as a result of the trauma inflicted on him by Jason over the years.
Tommy eventually resorts to going to Jason’s grave and encasing his body in cement to guarantee that he can’t and won’t escape. Insane! But you can’t blame him for instilling such beliefs, can you?
Part VI of Friday the 13th: The New Blood (1988)
If you didn’t previously know, this film will demonstrate it to you. Jason will not, and will not be able to, die. Jason is depicted shackled at the bottom of Crystal Lake at the start of the film The New Blood. He is observed decaying but still breathing. OMG! I’d think it’s some Bollywood nonsense.
Tina utilized her telekinetic abilities to murder her father, who she saw as a deranged and abusive monster trapped under this lake. Tina’s actions, however, begin to dawn on her, and she begins to feel upset, so her mother brings her to Crystal Lake for therapy.
Tina arrives and sits by the lake, remembering and hoping her father would just return to her; after all, she was his blood. Instead, she resurrects Jason, who ends up causing havoc on Tina, his daughter, her mother, and everyone else who is striving to recover.
Part VIII of Friday the 13th: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989)
Jason sets off for New York once again, this time with the intention of making this the last Friday film. But, before he can go there, he has to be resurrected from his previous death. While his corpse was rotting at Crystal Lake, it was jolted back to life by the sound of a boat’s engine.
Jason Voorhees boards a boat bound for New York City, intending to torment and victimize the city’s residents. Isn’t it true that I said innocent? The fact that there wasn’t another Friday The 13th film until 1993 disappointed the box office. Let’s take a look at the upcoming Friday The 13th film, even though we can’t be certain it was a letdown.
Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday is the ninth installment in the Jason Goes to Hell series (1993)

In whatever chronological order, why does Friday The 13th appear before Jason X has always been a point of contention. So hang in there with me, and we’ll get there. The first thing that comes to mind is undoubtedly, “This is unfair, the 2009 Friday The 13th is a reboot,” and you aren’t entirely incorrect. But take it easy. Despite the fact that it is a reboot, you must admit that it is a part of the series. So, certainly, this film comes before the Jason X film in terms of chronological order.
This film stands on its own and is not a complete shot-for-shot reproduction of the original Friday the 13th film. Nonetheless, there are a few parallels we can’t ignore. Similarities in the features of the cast members and a variety of other minor details. Yes! This film is self-contained. However, it was going to be an origin narrative featuring a younger, “in shape” version of Jason, not Jason himself.
Jason X (#11) (2003)
The fact that Jason X was filmed in 2002 puts it behind the 2009 release on the list, despite the fact that it was released in 2009. And it all happens in space. At this point, Jason is just exacting vengeance on individuals who have done him no harm. This only demonstrates (as if we needed any more evidence) that Jason is a crazed murderer and a monster.
Freddy vs. Jason, number 12 (2003)
Jason is pitted against Freddy Krueger in this shared world film (The Killer From The Nightmare On Elm Street). It all begins with who can get the most kills (in a subtle way).
However, this is really about Freddy Krueger using Jason as a pawn to instill dread in the hearts of the citizens of Springwood. The more terrified people are, the more likely Freddy Krueger is to return and haunt their dreams.
This is becoming tense! As fans of the series, we already know that Jason has no control over his actions, which leads to his murdering the majority of Freddy’s prospective victims. However, there will be complications. Jason’s actions result in a fight between the two otherworldly murderers. I warned you there was a problem.
Fans are now on the edge of their seats, waiting to see which of these serial murderers gets slain. In any case, they’re both as alive as anybody who has been resurrected or returned from the underworld.
